- 1). Right-click your Windows taskbar at the bottom of your screen. Select "Toolbars" from the list of options.
- 2). Remove the check mark next to the item labeled "AOL Deskbar." This removes the search text box from your Windows taskbar.
- 3). Right-click the Windows taskbar and again select "Toolbars." There should be no check mark next to "AOL Deskbar." If you want to re-enable it in the future, check the "AOL Deskbar" icon again.
